Special needs

Jon SnowSnow was a cat with special needs and a permanent resident at the sanctuary.

Jon Snow was a young kitty of 1 year only who had the misfortune of having complete fecal incontinence. That means he can’t control his anal sphincter and he needs diapers along with a few other vital things for the rest of his life. Basically he constantly poops and pees on himself.
Maria from the sanctuary doesn’t know how Snow got himself into this situation, but most likely he was severely abused.

Given his special needs, Snow was not given to adoption. He lived his entire life at Blanche House with Maria who took exceptional care of him.

Despite the incontinence Snow was very happy and he didn’t feel any pain if his situation was managed properly. Therefore euthanasia was never an option until his situation got complicated and his quality of life degraded irremediably.

Jon SnowSnow’s monthly needs were considerable:
– 2 large bags of diapers: $70
– 2 Johnson’s baby powder jars: $5
– 2 zinc based cremes: $12
– 1 to 3 eczema creme jars: $12
– 1 Spectam syrup bottle: $20
– 1 Vetgastril for digestion (2ml daily): $60
– 1 hemostatic spray or adrenostazin: $14
– 4 theranekron injections (weekly shot): $60
– 1-2 baby shampoo: $5
– 1 bag of 7.5kg of Hills Science Diet dry food: $75
– 1 box Royal Gastronomie wet food: $25
TOTAL: $358

Even if he was sick, Snow’s personality shined in unexpected ways. He was Maria’s little buddy and always up for a cuddle and a treat.

Snow’s legacy continues to live at Blanche House Cat Sanctuary.
